Operation Not Forgotten is a program of Life Renewed International, an all volunteer non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization, and was created to help veterans and their families achieve a better quality of life. Operation Not Forgotten operates through peer-support groups called Vet Life Communities. Life Renewed was incorporated in 2007, and received tax exempt status in 2010.
The mission of Operation Not Forgotten (ONF) is to provide services that support the well-being of veterans and their families. We connect them with other veterans -- buddies they can trust and relate with to coach them through any difficulties. Our purpose is to measurably enhance and improve a veteran's quality of life and functioning in four areas: mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.
Vet Life Community is a network of local community weekly support meeting - the buddy system, veterans helping veterans face to face - offering tools necessary to assess current levels of functioning and determine what, if any, help or coaching veterans may need as they transition back into life outside the military.
The meetings are structured as peer based support groups - a tried and proven model - the most effective intervention in the United States. The Vet Life Team is designed to assist statewide Vet Life Communities to train and certify their group leaders; support their local community outreaches; and supply all local communities with program materials.
It is important to mention the strict adherence to anonymity and confidentiality; no military rank or employment position; no last names; no requirement to talk until you are ready; discussions do not leave the room. All Meetings are veteran run and are at no cost to veterans and their families participating in the program..
